How to fill out the contract..

Before you send it, make sure it's right!
(ONLY THE FIRST AND LAST PAGES OF THE CONTRACT MUST BE SENT IF BY EMAIL. A COPY OF THE IDENTIFICATION CARD OF BOTH SIGNATORIES MUST ALSO BE INCLUDED.)

Regardless under which kingdom a land wishes to sponsor, a contract with the Burning Lands Board of Directors is mandatory. The Amtgard contract does several things at once. It allows a group to call themselves "Amtgard." It sets the date of a land, and it gives permission to create copies of the Amtgard Rules of Play and Amtgard Corpora for their members.

If you are using this tutorial, you are hereby rewarded. You may dowload and save pages i and iv of the contract in .doc format here. Steps for using Word correctly to fill in the contract are in the steps below.
Using your Keyboard:
- Depress the Insert key to type in all information.
- The Insert key is located between your letter keypad and numbers keypad - usually above the arrow array.
- Insert will allow you to type in the blanks without altering the layout of the document.
- Please use black, Times New Roman font, size 11 (using bold or italics is optional).
If you hand write the information below, print neatly and legibly.
Page i:
Use the Insert function to fill in the necessary information below. Or, print all information in this first paragraph.^Note* Be sure to print legibly!

Now do the same in the last paragraph on page i:
On page iv:
Two officers, 18 years of age or older are needed to sign the contract. ^*Note: If the Monarch and PM are not the signatories for this document, a cover letter is strongly recommended in order to delineate why they are not, and introduce who is signing for the land.
The Signatory Page - Fill out only the right side of the document as shown below:
Your side of the Signatory page -
- Type or carefully print the name of your group as indicated in the image below.
- Do not type on Signature line. Legal signature is preferred on this line, however, an Amtgard persona name is accepted.
- Type or carefully print each Amtgard name for each signature, and include any applicable titles or positions.See #4 above for signature recommendations.

It is no longer necessary to notarize the contract. However, you must include a copy of the identification card of ALL signatories. If this is not included, the contract will be rejected.
Cover Letters:

It gives your group a chance to explain your formation history.
It provides a place to include two legible names, return addresses, email addresses, and contact phone numbers.
It gives the opportunity to introduce the signatories of the contract.
It sets a tone of business etiquette for the dealings of your group.
it provides the opportunity for you to inform the Burning Lands Monarch and Board of Directors of your desire is to be sponsored by the Burning Lands, your plans of being sponsored by one of the other Kingdoms, or your plans of being a freehold. ^*Reminders*
~Regardless of sponsorship, a contract with Amtgard Inc. is always necessary.

It allows you great latitude as to contents of the letter and introduction of your group and its members.
